Te ao Māori context within policy helps ensure that Māori values, rights and interests are recognised and provided for, and that Māori voices are heard in planning and development processes. 

Our team has extensive te ao Māori knowledge and experience in writing Māori strategy, policy and plan development. This includes being a part of the Ministry for the Environment,  Te Ao Māori Policy Team in the Resource Management Reforms in 2022 and the development of the Māori sections of the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan. 

More recently the Mahea team have been involved in the development of Iwi and Hapū Management Plans and Māori Economic Development and Housing Strategies.
